The donation continues the organizations’ partnership that began in 2022 to support community events and financial literacy programs.

Plymouth, Mass. – May 6, 2024 – Bridgewater Credit Union, a division of Merrimack Valley Credit Union (MVCU), is continuing its partnership with the Plymouth Public Library Foundation (PPLF) with a $7,500 donation that will support the foundation’s public events through the end of 2024, including its golf tournament, arts & crafts festival and the annual Taste of the Town. The partnership also includes the development of a free financial literacy program that MVCU launched in conjunction with the Plymouth Public Library in 2023.

The PPLF is a non-profit organization that supports the Plymouth Public Library in their effort to provide quality services and resources to their community. Each year the foundation provides more than 1,500 free educational programs to the library and has funded many community projects, including the publication of two histories of Plymouth.

"Over the course of this year, the Plymouth Public Library Foundation will positively impact tens of thousands of people through our literacy, music, arts, environmental and literature initiatives,” says Bill Petrillo, president of PPLF’s board of trustees. “We can only provide such programming with the support of our community partners. Our sincere thanks to MVCU for being at the forefront of this support!"

MVCU is committed to helping members of all communities better understand financial concepts and setting them up for success. To learn more about MVCU’s community initiatives, click here.
