BrightBridge Credit Union (BrightBridge) is pleased to announce that Matthew Coggins has joined the organization as Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications, bringing more than 18 years of experience leading marketing and communications efforts within the financial services industry.
Coggins has built a career focused on helping financial institutions elevate their brands and connect more meaningfully with the communities they serve. Most recently, he served as Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at Enterprise Bank, where he supported the organization through periods of growth while navigating rapid advancements in technology and evolving member expectations.
“Throughout my career, I’ve seen tremendous advancement in technology, especially in how we engage with and understand our audiences,” Coggins said. “At the same time, one thing hasn’t changed: the importance of personal relationships. In an industry where many products can feel commoditized, the human touch remains one of the most meaningful ways to differentiate and build lasting trust with members.”

That emphasis on relationships and purpose inspired Coggins to join BrightBridge, whose people-first culture extends both internally to its team members and externally through its deep connections with members and community partners.
“What stood out to me immediately was BrightBridge’s genuine focus on supporting its members, teammates and communities,” he said. “Financial institutions are responsible for lifting others up. I’ve been fortunate to work in environments where culture truly mattered, so I understand the difference it makes. That made this opportunity feel like a natural fit.”
In his new role, Coggins will focus on strengthening the BrightBridge brand and supporting the credit union’s long-term growth following recent mergers. He is particularly excited about driving initiatives that deepen connections with members and enhance the credit union’s ability to serve its communities, which now span from southern New Hampshire through the south shore of Massachusetts, western Massachusetts and northern Connecticut.
Coggins holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bryant University and a master’s degree in marketing from Southern New Hampshire University. He also holds the Certified Financial Marketing Professional designation.
A longtime Lowell resident for more than 30 years, Coggins is deeply committed to community involvement. He currently serves on the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell’s Board of Trustees, where he has volunteered for more than two decades, and is chairman of the board for Project LEARN, an organization dedicated to investing in people through education and opportunity.
Outside of work, Coggins enjoys traveling, particularly to historic European destinations, reading spy thrillers, and spending time with his wife and three children.
