On Monday, Dec. 5, Bridgewater Credit Union, a division of Merrimack Valley Credit Union (MVCU), established a new community partnership with the Plymouth Public Library Foundation (PPLF), making a $10,000 donation that will support the foundation’s public events through the end of 2023, including its golf tournament, arts & crafts festival and the annual Taste of the Town. The partnership will also include the development of a free financial literacy program that MVCU will launch in conjunction with the Plymouth Public Library next year.
The Plymouth Public Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports the Plymouth Public Library in their effort to provide quality services and resources to their community. Each year the foundation provides more than 1,500 free educational programs to the library and has funded many community projects, including the publication of two histories of Plymouth.
“We like to think of our library as the heartbeat of one community; one great community,” says Bill Petrillo, president of PPLF’s board of trustees. “We recognize that we cannot be a great community without great cultural and educational programming. And, we cannot have great cultural and educational offerings without partners and patrons like Merrimack Valley Credit Union. We especially look forward to increasing community financial competency through this partnership.”
MVCU is committed to helping members of all communities better understand financial concepts and setting them up for success.
